12th July 2015 – Chronixx with support from Dre Island
Currently one of Jamaica’s biggest selling artists, Chronixx adds a burst of Caribbean energy to Somerset House for an evening of Reggae music. Surrounded by Burro Barton, Norris Man and Gregory Isaacs during his formative years, Chronixx has been inspired by his mentors to become the chart topping reggae artist that we see today. Chronixx will be performing with his carefully assembled musical crew: ZincFence Redemption, who together, elevates the Chronixx experience to new and ever increasing heights with their fascinating stage presence. With his unique fusion of reggae, dance-hall and clever lyrics, Chronixx and his crew together with his support, Dre Island, will create a Jamaican dance music evening to remember.
Dre Island is one of the more exciting young musicians currently emerging from Jamaica; a classically trained pianist with a strikingly unforgettable voice. Having worked as a producer with top reggae artists, he transitioned to create his own music. His latest singleWay Up, playlisted on BBC 1Xtra, was a massive global reggae hit. Not restricting his voice to any particular genre, he explores various musical styles.
